The North Carolina Division of Emergency Management invites communications personnel and teams to participate in a high-intensity, full-scale exercise designed to test and enhance operational readiness in austere environments. This immersive training will require self-sustainment and will incorporate a wide range of communications systems, including:

• Thursday, May 15, 2025 – 16:00-23:59
• Friday, May 16, 2025 – 00:00-23:59
• Saturday, May 17, 2025 – 00:00-23:59
• Sunday, May 18, 2025 – 00:00-13:00
• Location:
DuPont State Recreational Forest, Cedar Mountain, NC 28718
(Exercise will take place on the airstrip – No handicap accessibility, limited WiFi access.)
What to Expect
Participants will be assigned to teams and will compete in real-world operational challenges, pushing their technical and tactical communication skills to the limit. Expect to work in day and night operations, across varied terrain and weather conditions, while demonstrating adaptability and teamwork.
Teams will compete for the best performance in completing communication-based challenges!
Eligibility & Requirements
• Intermediate-Level Training
• Open to those with completed position task books or open position task books (with mentor support)
• 72-hour self-sustainment required (food, water, gear, shelter)
