We’re excited to share that the Amateur Radio Collective of Western Carolina (ARCWC) will have a table at this year’s WCARS Hamfest! Whether you’re a seasoned operator, new to the hobby, or just ham-curious, we’d love for you to swing by the table and connect with the growing ARCWC community.

The ARCWC table is more than just a place to grab a brochure or sticker — it’s a relaxed meetup spot for our operators, friends, and fellow radio enthusiasts. If you’re an ARCWC member or someone who’s been meaning to get involved, we encourage you to stop by, say hello, and take a load off. The table is open to all ARCWC operators — bring your stories, questions, and maybe even a chair!

We’ll have an information station set up with flyers, QR codes, and updates on what ARCWC is all about:

• Our vision of mutual aid and practical radio preparedness
• How we’re building a collaborative ops-focused group across WNC
• Upcoming events like our Spooktacular Fall Campout, monthly nets, and digital training opportunities
• And of course, how to get involved, whether you’re focused on Winlink, APRS, P2P, Meshtastic, or just want to get out and play radio

In true hamfest fashion, a few of our members may also be offering some items for sale at the table — expect a mix of well-loved gear, spare parts, and maybe a few unique finds. If you’ve got a small item you want to unload or trade, let us know and we’ll try to make some space.

More than anything, we want this table to reflect the casual, collaborative spirit of ARCWC — it’s not a sales pitch, it’s a place to reconnect, share what’s working, and hear what others are up to. If you’re looking for like-minded operators who enjoy field ops, working projects, learning together, and having a little fun along the way — this will be the place.

We’ll also have a sign-up list for folks who want to be added to the ARCWC roster or join future events and field days. If you’ve been on the fence about jumping in, this is a great low-pressure chance to ask questions and see what we’re about.

We hope to see you there! Look for the ARCWC banner, the coffee thermos, and a table full of radios, maps, and friendly faces.
